A programme tailored to team leaders looking to secure a PIC position within the Autism and Disability services sector.

The ARCS PIC Fast Track Development Programme

This programme has been developed to prepare ARCS team leaders to take on the Person in Charge Position.

This programme is structured over three years with professional development planned at various stages of each year to prepare team leaders for the PIC position.

Year One

You will assume your Team Leader position, your first 6 months will be focused on immersing in the team lead role and familiarisation with the team, clients, centre, and ARCS.

Alongside this, you will complete the following courses from Social Care Training Ireland.

  • Professional Supervision Skills for Social Care Managers & Leaders
  • HIQA Regulations and Standards for Disability Services
  • Professional Supervision Skills for Social Care Managers and Leaders
  • HIQA Regulations and Standards for Disability Services
  • Leadership and Management in Social Care Change Management in Social Care Auditing in Social Care

Year Two

In year two, the focus will be on developing your key management skills and managing service quality. Our Director of Services will work closely alongside you in this year and you will also undertake a modular-based, regulatory required, PIC management course, inclusive of modules:

  • Key Management Skills
  • Managing Service Quality

 

Year Three

At the start of year three, you will commence your PIC position for a period of 6 months, where you will utilize all learning and training.

Team leads in year 3 will be eligible to put themselves forward for a place on Studio III Train the Trainer course as/ when the need for new trainers arises.

This period will be closely supported by your Assistant Director of Autism and Disability Services and will include monthly reviews to ensure there are no areas you feel have been left uncovered!

After these 6 months, successful Team Leaders will be transitioned into their new role and become the designated PIC for their service.
